The beautiful bathing resorts of Calacea are situated in the lowlands of Banat, about 20 kilometers from the town of Timisoara and 37 kilometers from Arad city. The bathing resort occupies a land of about 15 acres of which the park only, filled with wattle trees and dotted with a magnificent pond, spreads on 14 acres. The pond has beautiful water lilies and is always populated by wild ducks. The water lilies were brought here from Baile Felix in the year of 1996. Nonetheless the park and the pond is not the only thing you can see and enjoy while visiting Calacea. Spend a relaxing holiday in the resorts of Calacea and discover the land of Romania.

Main attractions at Calacea

One of the main attractions of Calacea is definitely the pet zoo which is a favorite for all the children who visit the region. The zoo is located in the middle of the resort where you can see pheasants, peacocks, cute domestic and wild bunnies, wild ducks and two adorable grey cats from Russia named Titica and Ivan. In the zoo you can also see stags and deer. About 5 kilometers from Calacea there is a place called Satchinez where you can visit a natural reserve called the Small Delta of Banat.

Tours and other attractions

You can attend several tours and excursions to the city of Timisoara, Lugoj and Recas where you can visit the famous local winery. Also visit the stud-farm of Izvin, the churches of Radna, Bodrog and Sag or the ornithological reserve at Satchinez. Another important attraction at Calacea is the open air bath with Olympic pools, football and tennis courts and playgrounds for children. The resorts of Calacea are mainly known for their mineral thermal waters which contain bicarbonates and have a temperature of approximately 40°C.

Complete relaxation

Strolling around and visiting the park, bathing in the thermal water, breathing in the healthy fresh air and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere are the most relaxing things you can do on a holiday. Besides all the above you can also play your favorite sports and visit the major towns and attractions in the surrounding area.

Accommodation in Calacea

The resorts of Calacea presently offer accommodation for 250 persons of which 63 has a comfort level of excellent quality. The topgallant rooms have two beds and an en-suite bathroom. There are 40 second-rate rooms with common bath and 100 rooms in camping houses.
